Captain Rodney Petersen

Owner & Senior Captain, Rodney Petersen, was born in Sydney as the fourth generation seaman of his family. He spent much of his early years on the tug boats, ferries and cruise boats with his father, and hanging out with his grandfather down at his boat shed and on his boat.

Senior Captain, Rodney Petersen, was born in Sydney as the fourth generation seaman of his family. He spent much of his early years on the tug boats, ferries and cruise boats with his father, and hanging out with his grandfather down at his boat shed and on his boat.

As he grew up he would go game fishing with his dad during the school holidays and he would also work on the cruise boats as a deck-hand.

Rod was then employed in the family business “Gone Fishing” Charters on the Gold Coast where he accumulated his sea time, and put in charge as Manager of the fleet of three boats whilst completing his Commercial ticket.

Now, after many years in Licensing Training, he is Head Skipper / Head Trainer and Director of Australian Boat & Jetski Licensing.

Captain Rodney Petersen’s qualifications are:

* Unrestricted Coxswain
* Marine Radio Operator
* St. John’s Senior First Aid
* Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
* Blue Card (working with children)

Captain Stephen Fields

Stephen grew up in a marine environment with his father owning a commercial diving company in which he would spend his time as a child learning the ropes, boats, and all things underwater.

As an adult Stephen joined the Royal Australian Navy and continued his affiliation with all things to do with the underwater world and enjoyed a life at sea with deployments through, on and under most oceans of the globe.

Stephen is a qualified sailing instructor and has crewed “Tall Ships” in Australia and sailed the Schooner “Aquidneck” from Rhode Island, USA.

The ocean and boats are Stephens chosen career and he has a wealth of knowledge that he is more than willing share if asked. Stephen’s teaching style is relaxed and encouraging and is most relaxed when conveying the joy of boating to others.

Captain Dean Horton

Dean was fortunate to grow up sailing small yachts with his family on the weekend cruising
Moreton Bay. His racing career began @ the age of 9 and continues to this day.

With multiple Queensland and Australian titles to his name over various classes and sailing disciplines as well as being a past line Honours winner in the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race, Dean still has a passion for sailing and racing to this day.

Working as a marine trainer from the age of 12, starting as an assistant sailing instructor. Dean has held positions of Senior Instructor @ the RQYS Sailing Academy and High Performance Coach for TSS Sailing Academy.

Dean has experience cruising and working on commercial boats on the East coast of Australia from Lizard Island to Melbourne. He has been working as a Boatsafe Training Provider since 2005 and brings years of experience and knowledge from commercial vessels to high performance yachts that his students can tap into.

Captain Nathan Jeffrees

Meet Captain Nathan Jeffree a well-known master on our Gold Coast waterways. With a lifetime of maritime experience offshore and inshore begin your on water adventure alongside a decorated and dedicated captain.Nathan has been conducting Boat and Jetski licence courses for 5 years on the Gold Coast. With a wealth of knowledge and experience on the water and the marine industry he is sure to pass on all the knowledge you need to become a great skipper and start your own on water adventures.

Captain Nicholas Lynch

Captain Nick has grown up on the Gold Coast and began working on family fishing vessels from a young age. Has acquired the majority of his sea-time throughout Queensland and South Asia as a Master 4 operating on commercial vessels in the transport and fishing industries. From 2020 Nick has been based in south east Queensland as a trainer&assessor for maritime qualifications & providing boat and JetSki training.

Captain Damien Love

Damien was born down in Northern NSW and from a young age was out working on Prawn Trawlers out of Brunswick Heads. Over the years he’s worked on Spanner Crab and Line/Trap Fishing Boats in NSW and QLD.
Damien’s Qualifications are:
– Unrestricted Coxswain
– Master 5
– Senior First Aid
– Marine Radio Operator
– Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
– Blue Card
